How Clutter Affects Your Life
I saw a video the other day of a horse stuck neck-deep in mud by @michael_lares, and it made me think of how someone feels when they are stuck in clutter! You are literally stuck in the mud when you are surrounded by clutter. (The horse made it out ok.)
- You will feel like you cannot get ahead.
- You take one step forward and then ten back.
- Clutter can make you gain weight.
- Clutter can make you sick.
- Clutter creates stagnant energy in your home and in you.
There are a few ways you can go about clearing the clutter. If you need extra help, hire a professional organizer. There are many online courses on tackling clutter, and it is essential to do it in a way that works for you.
Did you know?
Clutter can cause weight gain and health issues.
Apply the Bagua Map to your home, does the clutter coincide with a specific area?
The clutter often coincides with an area of your life you are struggling with. Take the Bagua Map and apply it to your house. Where is this clutter? In the Career & Life Purpose, Love? Or in your basement – that is your subconscious and the representative Gua. Check out my Bagua Map blog post to get your free Bagua Map and learn how to lay the map correctly.
Your Home Is A Direct Reflection Of You
Your home is a direct reflection of you. Where do you want to be in one year, five years? Fill your home with decor that matches your dreams.
Refresh The Chi
Once you complete a decluttering project always refresh the Chi! Clear with Sage, Palo Santo or Salt. Set your intentions and bless your home, then add some fresh flowers!
Decluttering 101
🔸 Clear out everything in the room, including pictures and decor. I like to start with the space and do drawers and closets once the room is done.
🔸 Move the furniture into the center of the room.
🔸 Vacuum the floorboards and wipe the walls.
🔸 Vacuum where the furniture sits.
🔸 Now, rearrange the furniture if you can. Even just swapping chair locations helps get the Chi moving.
🔸 Once your furniture is in place, start bringing in the decor you love. And only what you love. Do the items represent where you want to be in your life now and tomorrow? Or are they representative of your past? Remember, your home is a direct reflection of you, and your home is your vision board.
🔸 What is left? I recommend donating and tossing what no longer serves you.
🔸 Once you have the main part of the room, then move to the drawers and closets. Maybe leave these for another day. Apply the same approach, putting back only what is needed.
🔸 Finish by vacuuming and dusting. You have just made massive movement in your space, and you will feel it! The Chi is moving, but you need to remove the stagnant Chi. I prefer burning sage for a big project. Sage takes you down to the bones so you can build the Chi the way you want. Salt works very well if you don’t want to use a smoke method. Take a bowl of salt; Himalayan sea salt works great. Set the bowl in the space with the intention for the salt to capture all the negative stale Chi. Leave this out for 24 hours, only 24. Remove the salt; either give it back to the earth away from your home or wrap it up in a bag and put it in your outside trash.
🔸 Add a bouquet of fresh flowers, set your intention for the space, and bless your home. An example intention may be that this room is a place of joy, love, and blessed family time. If your room is in the Wealth Gua, add the intention that the space will bring you more abundance and prosperity.
