History of Feng Shui
Feng Shui is an art and a science, originating in China almost 6,000 years ago.
Homes are our living partners, and they hold an enormous ability to kindle positive energy on our behalf. Unfortunately, many dismiss a house as mere architecture and diminish its power to create significant transformations. One of the most effortless changes you can make is to live with what you love!
Feng Shui means “wind” (Feng) and “water” (Shui). It is an ancient method of constructing and optimizing residences and businesses to maximize energy flow by bringing happiness, abundance, and harmony. Feng Shui has grown, evolved, and diversified into a robust practice that encompasses many different perspectives and schools of thought:
- The original school of Feng Shui is based on the observation of topographical features. It is the relationship of a particular place to its landform surroundings.
- Compass School is an early school of Feng Shui that developed after Form School. A compass is utilized to determine the best directional and solar orientation for a structure.
- Flying Stars works with the astrology of the building, describing its energetic condition over time.
- BTB (Black Sect Tantric Buddhism) Feng Shui emphasizes following the flow of Chi (in the space and the person), the use of transcendental solutions to reinforce remedies, and the power of intention.
The many perspectives and methodologies all accommodate people’s culture, environment, and needs at different times. Feng Shui has evolved over the centuries but stays true to its original intent, which says so much. Feng Shui can work wonders for anyone and everyone in this age as it continues to stand the test of time.
The Core Concepts of Feng Shui
Apply Feng Shui core concepts to any life stage of a home or business. Including siting, building, design, remodels, or applied to your current space to refresh the Chi. The core concepts of Feng Shui are:
- Chi
- The theory of Yin and Yang
- The Five Elements
- The Bagua
All the concepts are drawn from the I Ching, or Book of Changes, and can be used to describe every action in the Universe as we know it. My clients receive a Feng Shui introduction when they work with me, and my goal is to help them learn and apply the methodology to their future spaces. I consider it an investment in their future, their personal master class, to create a beautiful, welcoming home!
